Packing the gear away
The last weekend before the Lakes trip.
You'd think I'd be rushing around getting the last minute minutae sorted. But far from it.
The bag and tent have been checked over for any damage. The main gear (sleeping bag/cooking/first aid) is present and correct.
Now all that's needed is to pack it up,and pick up any remaining bits at the other end of the journey.
Whilst the preparation can be fun, if you've done this a few times it pays to leave all your gear together in the same place (normally in the pack) so its ready to go when you need it next.
And lets face it, the little bits and pieces can always be picked up if they're left behind.
My best trip last year was decided the night before, and the bag was packed and ready in 20 minutes.
It's all too easy to get hung up on the details and forget why you are doing the trip in the first place.
Pleasure and relaxation.
